The
Mental Health Nursing Journal is entering the world of electronic publishing,
with the As the schedule has been subject
to some disruption this year, the issue will appear in late-May. We aim
to bring subsequent issues in 2008 back on track, with the July-August
issue appearing towards the beginning of August. The Journal will still be published 6 times a year, with the May-June issue being the first to appear in solely electronic form. MHNA regrets that the April-May issue will be the last to appear in a paper form. Future issues will only be available on-line. We are also investigating how to host MHN on the academic journal website Ingenta, and progress here will also appear on the MHNA website. Electronic hosting is not just cheaper for the MHNA, and hence of course the membership, but it is also much more flexible. You will now be able to access articles from any computer - at home, work or a library. The new format will allow you to search the journal for particular items of interest, view the whole journal in content for, save it in PDF format. Last, but not least, electronic hosting is environmentally helpful - while our publisher goes to great lengths to source renewable paper, not using paper, ink and all the inherent transportation costs can only be beneficial for the environment. You can access the first and second issues of 2008 here now, but all members and subscribers will shortly be asked to register with their membership or subscription number and an email address to access the May - June issue and all future issues of the Journal. This is to ensure that only you receive this benefit of membership as members and of your subscription as a subscriber. It will also mean that MHNA will be able to notify you of forthcoming issues, publication dates, as well as any news and updates from the Association. MHNA is aware that this change may cause some inconvenience, but has taken every possible measure to minimise any obstacle in ensuring that your Journal reaches you efficiently and in a format that is infinitely more flexible. However, if you have any query about the new format or difficulty in accessing your copy of the Journal, please contact me at brian.rogers@unitetheunion.com. Brian Rogers, INFORMATION
